Volunteer at the Downtown Lawrence Music Crawl

The Downtown Lawrence Music Crawl is an innovative project that aims to bring together diverse musical styles and generations through a series of free mini-concerts, interactive experiences, and community engagement activities. The event will sponsor 5 sites throughout downtown Lawrence to create a walkable circuit for visitors to enjoy and discover new music. Each space will host different musical performances ranging from folk and roots music, to jazz, rock, indigenous music, and more.

In addition to musical performances, each space will also feature interactive experiences such as instrument-making workshops, instrument petting zoos, and jam sessions. These activities will encourage community engagement and enable visitors to learn more about music and the local music scene.

We are seeking volunteers to help facilitate site activities, set up and tear down, and to manage each site. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with set up beginning at 8:30 a.m. and tear down ending by 5 p.m. Volunteers are invited to sign up for 2-hour time slots according to their scheduling needs.

Volunteers will have opportunities to participate in event organization and to interact with the public in a community-affirming event that celebrates the vitality and diversity of musical life in Lawrence, Kansas. All volunteers will receive lunch/snacks and a fabulous t-shirt to wear the day of the event. Interested parties are asked to pre-register by contacting Christy Miller no later than Wednesday, April 24.
